$86,000 awarded since 2006

JULY 24, 2018 – Derry, NH: Fifteen high school seniors from six area high schools were selected to each receive a $1,000 scholarship from the DMC Primary Care Charitable Foundation. The scholarship is given to students pursuing careers in a medically related profession, and who rank in the top 25 percent of their class.  This year there were four recipients from both Pinkerton Academy in Derry and Londonderry High School. Windham High School, Salem High School and Bedford High School were represented by two recipients each, while Bishop Guertin High School had one recipient.

“We are pleased to be able to recognize the academic success of area students each year,” said Dennis Rork, M.D., one of the physician partners at DMC Primary Care.  “The scholarship also awards their dedication, compassion and willingness to help others in their chosen health profession.”

Dr. Rork encouraged each recipient to stay in touch with the providers at DMC Primary Care for future networking, internships and other opportunities. The physician partners of DMC Primary Care are deeply rooted in the local community and take great pride and interest in helping future health care providers from the community achieve their career goals.

DMC Primary Care has distributed $86,000 since the scholarship’s inception in 2006 to help students pursue their professional aspirations and experience the reward of making a difference in people’s lives. This year, the Pinkerton Academy scholarships received by Tyler Danforth and Lindsey Farland were given in memory of Julie VanderMark, who was a talented and much beloved Physician’s Assistant at DMC Primary Care.

Applications for the scholarships are available every spring from the guidance offices at each school.
