News 2007Derry Medical Center and Londonderry Family Practice Center Awards $1,000 Scholarships to Graduating High School StudentsDerry Medical Center (DMC) and Londonderry Family Practice Center (LFPC) recently awarded $1,000 educational scholarships to a graduating senior from Pinkerton Academy, Londonderry High School and Salem High School. Shawnna Prendergast of Salem High School, Jaya Nemani of Pinkerton Academy and Sarah Cahill of Londonderry High School were this year’s recipients of the DMC/LFPC annual scholarship award. These outstanding students met the scholarship’s conditions, which require that the recipient rank in the top 25 percent of his or her class and plan to pursue a career in the healing art of medicine.“We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community in a way that supports tomorrow’s medical professionals,” said Tom Buchanan, Administrator for Derry Medical Center and Londonderry Family Practice Center. The $1,000 awards allow the students to use the funds toward future educational expenses. This year all three of the recipients are attending college as nursing majors. Shawnna will attend Simmons College. Jaya will attend Endicott College and Sarah will attend New Hampshire Technical Institute. Derry Medical Center's Patient Newsletters |
