James Harris, APRN, BC-ADM, CLS (certified lipid specialist)
Jim received both his Masters of Science in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, MA. He is licensed in the state of New Hampshire and is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Jim has extensive expertise in the field of Diabetes Management. Jim helped develop a comprehensive diabetes care program at the Cardiovascular and Diabetes Center at St Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH. In 2007, Jim founded Diabetes Healthcare of New Hampshire, LLC and dedicated himself to helping people understand and manage diabetes. With a goal of bringing more medical resources to his patient, Jim sold his practice in January 2008 to Derry Medical Center / Londonderry Family Practice and became a valuable member the medical group.
Jim stresses the importance of building a strong rapport with his patients. “I believe the foundation of diabetes management starts with developing a partnership with each individual patient and continues by involving families and lifestyle changes". Jim continues to take the team approach in controlling diabetes and preventing diabetes related complications. This team includes the referring health care provider, diabetes educators, dietitians, podiatrists, ophthalmologists, and health care insurance providers.
Jim is able to take advantage of the latest technology advancement by using intense insulin pump therapy, Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (CGMS), and the latest glucose meters, to manage diabetes.
