Derry, NH (February 16, 2011) — The Derry Medical Center along with Derry Sports & Rehab will host a blood drive on Wednesday, March 2nd from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in the back parking lot of Overlook Medical Park on 6 Tsienneto Road in Derry.

“Every two seconds someone needs a blood transfusion and, unfortunately, this winter has caused the cancellation of too many blood drives,” Jen Ireland, DPT of Derry Sports & Rehab said. “Therefore, it is imperative that we help the local community by hosting this blood drive.”

The doctors, physician assistants, nurses and staff at Overlook Medical Park understand that the need for blood is constant and that with just one pint of blood they can save up to three lives.

The blood drive is open to the public and all blood types are needed. Individuals who are at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. Please bring your Red Cross blood donor card or another form of positive ID when you come to donate.
